Vic: Pedestrian killed in innercity Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Aug 7 AAP - A 26-year-old man died in hospital after being hit by a car
in inner-city Melbourne this afternoon, police said.

Two men were thrown into the air as the car careered into them at about 3.45pm AEST
in a carpark at Southbank, metropolitan ambulance spokesman Paul Holman said.

One man was resuscitated at the scene and taken to The Alfred hospital but died later.

The second man, aged 22, was in Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver received minor injuries.

Victoria's road toll now stands at 262, 15 more than at the same time last year.
